Real estate notebook: Newsmax Media signs Boca Raton lease

Newsmax Media is expanding its South Florida operations by signing a lease for more than 50,000 square feet in the 750@Park building in Boca Raton.

The multimedia publisher said it will use the space along Congress Avenue north of Yamato Road to expand its online television channel and administrative offices. The West Palm Beach-based company, founded by journalist Christopher Ruddy in 1998, also has offices in Boca, New York and Washington, D.C.

The 750@Park building is undergoing a $6 million redesign and renovation. Butters Construction & Development is in charge of shell and lobby work and also will perform $1.5 million in upgrades for Newsmax.

Villa Bellaria, an estate in Highland Beach, is on the market for $6.95 million.

The home, at 2332 S. Ocean Blvd. in Highland Beach's Camelot section, has four bedrooms, plus a guest suite, a pool and spa and a four-car garage.

John List, of Worth Avenue International Realty in Boca Raton, said the home is being offered fully furnished, down to the silk flowers and linens.

"Just bring your toothbrush and your clothes," he said.

The HFF firm says it has secured $46 million in financing for The Plaza at Delray, a 329,000-square-foot shopping center in Delray Beach.

HFF represented the owners, Heitman and Ramco-Gershenson Properties Trust, placing a 10-year fixed-rate loan at 4.43 percent with lender Allianz Real Estate of America.

The center is on 35 acres at the intersection of Linton Boulevard and U.S. 1. Publix is the anchor at the plaza, which was renovated in 2002. Other tenants include Marshalls, Ross Dress for Less, T.J. Maxx, CVS and Michaels.

A Massachusetts company paid $21.5 million for the Lakeside Office Center, a five-story, upscale office building in Plantation.

Brookwood Financial Partners bought the 134,443-square-foot office property at 600 N. Pine Island Road from Invesco Real Estate. CBRE announced the sale.

Lakeside was one of nearly a dozen office buildings on the market in South Florida recently. Building owners are looking to take advantage of a stabilizing commercial market.

Maridee Bell, an executive with the company that developed the Park of Commerce, has been selected as a "Woman of Influence" by Real Estate Forum.

The national commercial real estate trade publication honors the top women in the industry each year.

Bell handles leasing and marketing at the Miramar Park of Commerce, which has more than 5 million square feet of commercial space. She has completed nearly 600 leases in the park for more than 11 million square feet.

Rick Bonvie of Bonvie Real Estate recently completed two sales in >Fort Lauderdale.

Galt Ocean Plaza, at 3302 NE 34th St., traded for $3.24 million. Inductoweld Tube Corp. bought the 26,000-square-foot shopping center from Galt Ocean Plaza 613 LLC.

Bonvie also closed 2826 East Oakland, a 9,700-square-foot office building, for $1 million. Bonvie represented the seller, RCK Investments of SFL LLC. Marcus and Millichap represented the buyer, Alto Property Management LLC.
